About Ken

From forgotten grass runways in Kentucky, to the longest strips of asphalt Florida has to offer, Ken has grown up surrounded by aviation. The son of a Pilot and A&P mechanic, he’s spent time with Uncle Sam in the U.S Air Force as a cargo transportation specialist, contingency response group (CRG) member, and currently serves with the Florida Air National Guard as a jet propulsion technician for F100 series engines. Ken earned his flight ratings by being the jack of all trades at just about every airport he’s been around. From pumping 100 low lead and Jet  A on the flight line, to serving tables at airport diners, he’s built his time and reputation one hour at a time. He completed the restoration of well Ken White and Planeabused Cessna 150 in 2009 and has been behind its yoke ever since.

Ken has been around Tailwheels for about two years, where he trained for his commercial and CFI ratings. He’s currently our pipeline patrol pilot as well mechanics assistant, turning a wrench in the hanger as he works further toward his FAA A&P license. He holds degrees in sociology and political science and traded law school for a set of wings  so that he could teach others the beautiful world of aviation. When he’s not on the line he can be found at Brown’s Seaplane Base, or rummaging around his hanger working on the next project. An avid photographer, he specializes in air to air, and air to ground photography.
